Let’s Colour Christmas with Fun and Warmth

– Taikoo Li Sanlitun launches its "Sharing Is Caring" Christmas-themed events

(December 04, 2014, Beijing) –Today, Taikoo Li Sanlitun joined hands with the nonprofit organization "Power to Go" to host the lighting ceremony for their "Sharing Is Caring" Christmas promotion. Standing together in Taikoo Li Sanlitun North, Ms. Veronica Cao, the Assistant Director - Marketing at Taikoo Li Sanlitun, renowned actor Mr. Chen Kun, the founder of "Power to Go," and Ms. Wang Yìou, the founder of China-Dolls Center for Rare Disorders, lit the Christmas tree in bright neon colors, officially launching Taikoo Li Sanlitun’s 2014 Christmas season activities.

This year, by using neon lighting in its Christmas decorations, Taikoo Li Sanlitun is showing off the modern city in all its glory. Walking among the dazzling interactive installations, everyone can take center stage in a neon urban landscape that allows them to share the warmth this winter. In addition to the neon attractions, glittering Swarovski Christmas trees have been installed in both Taikoo Li Sanlitun North and South. The one located in the Piazza of Taikoo Li Sanlitun South stands 14 meters high and is decorated with 220,000 crystal beads. Every day, from 14:00 to 20:00, the Christmas tree takes on added brilliance with a light show.

Taikoo Li Sanlitun hopes that Christmas will be seen not merely as a fun holiday to be enjoyed with family and friends, but also an opportunity for people to show their generosity and compassion for those in need. This marks the second time that Taikoo Li Sanlitun has used "Sharing Is Caring" as the theme for its Christmas activities, following on its cooperation last year with Golden Wings to raise public awareness about autistic children’s needs.

Walking is a way of life in cities – and the physical act of walking can not only help people understand their inner strength, but also spur them to find their true self and tap into their sense of responsibility and altruism to pass it along. It is this idea that has prompted Taikoo Li Sanlitun to partner with "Power to Go" in using "Sharing Is Caring" as the overarching theme of the "Walking in love, in Taikoo Li" campaign that the two are co-sponsoring. They are calling upon people to use the simple act of walking as an effortless way to take part in charitable activity. During the event, once the number of “Walking in Taikoo Li” participants reaches 10,000, Taikoo Li Sanlitun will donate RMB100,000 to China-Dolls Center for Rare Disorders. Every participant will also have the chance to win limited edition postcards and surprise gifts.

During the activity period, Taikoo Li Sanlitun is also offering a variety of stylish gifts with minimum purchase. As part of the promotion, whenever a customer receives a K.BAND fitness-tracking wristband upon meeting a minimum purchase requirement, Taikoo Li Sanlitun will donate an additional RMB9.9 to the China-Dolls Center for Rare Disorders. Regardless of whether they are passersby who stumble upon this promotion or have made specific plans to go shopping with friends, it’s easy for everybody to participate in this charitable endeavor. Their generosity can offer Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) patients renewed hope of being able to walk.

Support for charitable activities has been a consistent tradition for Swire Properties.

Taikoo Li Sanlitun was Swire Properties’ first integrated commercial project in China; since its opening, it has organized hundreds of arts activities, including architecture exhibitions, art shows installations, photo exhibitions, dance and music performances, as well as other arts formats. During this festive season of joy and harmony, Taikoo Li Sanlitun wants not only to beautify the surrounding community and delight Beijing residents, but also hopes that people will celebrate the holiday by sharing love and happiness. This Christmas, come to Taikoo Li Sanlitun, and let your walking help spread warmth throughout the winter!

About Power to Go

The charity program “Power to Go” was launched by Chen Kun in May, 2011. The purpose of the program is to enhance a healthy lifestyle by stepping out and traveling around the world to find the true self and regain positive energies, which will benefit the daily life and work. China-Dolls Center for Rare Disorders is one of the charity projects being promoted. Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI), also known as brittle bone disease, affects one in 10,000 to 15,000 people; in China, the approximately 100,000 patients who suffer from OI are sometimes called “porcelain dolls." Timely medication, surgery and comprehensive physiotherapy can, to varying degrees, reduce the number of fractures, improve health, and promise a normal social life for OI patients.
